Breast reconstruction using only a patient’s own fat may provide another treatment option for some after mastectomy, especially those who do not want implants or may not be candidates for traditional flap surgery, according to a study in the October issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery®, the official medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
