The first combined face and whole eye transplant shows surgeons can address traumatic facial and eye injuries once considered beyond the limits of conventional reconstruction, according to a study in the August issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery®, which has been in publication for 80 years, the official medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
